This appears to be the only website with information about Elizabeth Shown Mills CG, CGL, FASG, FNGS, FUGA. For someone trying to find information about Elizabeth, her work history, academic credentials, and client reviews, she is a total mystery online. She shouldn't be a mystery since she claims she has been conducting genealogical and historical research for over 40 years with thousands of satisfied clients and hundreds of published works. However, besides her own websites, there is nothing about her, her past, or customer reviews online. She is a ghost. This is hard to believe for someone who is in the public eye as much as she is. What started this journey is that 2 of my very dear friends in the DAR had a bad experience with Elizabeth. Elizabeth provided information about their ancestors that did not match DAR records. Elizabeth has not only worked with them but with other members of DAR across the country with mixed results. What little we have uncovered about Elizabeth is shocking and tells a very different story about her qualifications and past. She does not hold an advanced degree of any type. Her bachelors degree is one of those "life experience" degrees, which is unaccredited and no longer issued by any respectable university. You get them for essentially being old, writing a couple of essays, and paying the university a lot of money while avoiding the normal coursework, exams, and research required of all legitimate students. So what do all of those acronyms after her name mean? I thought they were degrees or academic credentials. I was wrong. All of those acronyms after her name, which she uses to validate her expertise, are from a corporation. A corporation which she helps manage. A clear conflict of interest and self-serving set of "credentials" that aren't worth the paper they are printed in. In this case, she printed them herself. We are spreading the word in our organization about Elizabeth as she frequently solicits members and chapters. Her tactics are predatory as many of our members are senior citizens and not experienced in conducting research as pretty much all libraries, universities, counties records, and other archives require the use of computers.

Elizabeth Shown Mills is well known in my community in Alabama. She fleeces the elderly, who are interested in learning about their family history through DNA and genealogical research. They do not understand DNA testing or computer aided research, and she uses this against them. She is gone, but her reputation persists.

DO NOT HIRE HER. She overcharges and under delivers. Many of her sources and citations were her own. I mean really, citing yourself? Citing Facebook? Citing your own Facebook posts as if they were books or published papers...nutty narcisist! When I complained, she made it her mission to attack me and my family. My cousin is an attorney, and the firm's investigator turned up her sordid history. She does not have a PhD or any advanced degree as you would lead you to believe. She only has an unaccredited bachelors degree that ironically no longer exists. She is divorced, and much of her claimed lineage is from her ex-husband, not hers. She is not only claiming his ancestry, she is claiming his academic credentials and published works (he was a PhD). Her credentials are all from an organization she helps run, so she is awarding herself credentials. And if you review her college transcripts and divorce papers, she was sleeping with her advisor and did not have to take normal classes like everyone else. She got lifetime learning credit and independent study (fancy terms for staying at home because you are dating your professor). Elizabeth, prove me wrong! You can't change your transcripts and divorce court papers no matter how many fake stories you publish on Facebook.

Wow, i already can’t imagine life with out her. This past year of being in her geometry class gave me more then I thought was ever possible. Ms.zinger, if you see this, keep being yourself, because i don’t know how much good you are putting out there. Making people’s days, giving them joy in school, relating to them and being a friend. On Nov. 23,2020 I did a online order for buy 2footlong get one free. This store was no longer doing that so I had them cancel my order. The manager told us that she would give me a refund on Monday. Monday came and went so response went back up there a week later and talked to another manger and the owner and was told that it would be taken care of. Its no almost a month later and its still not taken care of. I talked to the district manager and she was very condescending and VERY RUDE!! Told me that they couldn't give me a refund and that the managers there are not allowed to do refunds!! She refused to give me the owners name and phone number!! This is not the first time we have had a issue with them. The other time we did a online order they took my money and there was no one working!! That time it took me 2 weeks to get my money back!! THEY ARE NOTHING BUT A BUNCH OF THEIVES!! The sad part is they are getting away with it!!!
