Mrs. Muoio is an insightful teacher who shares her unique analyses with the class, breaking down complex ideas in an approachable way. Although I love her focus on formal writing as a vehicle for creativity, it would enhance the class if she gave more creative writing assignments. In addition, some of the homework assignments are superficial, and she deducts points arbitrarily. If she used a more consistent, communicable grading system such as a rubric, she would certainly deserve a 5.

Despite her extensive knowledge of English, her behavior is immature, making her class painful. She gains pleasure from deriding others. After her class, I needed a therapist to process the self-doubt she had caused. (To improve her emotional wellness, she needs a therapist as well.) Even my guidance counselor said that if I ever get a teacher like her again, I should drop the course!

Her perfectionism, narcissism, oscillating behavior, and constantly changing expectations are overwhelming. After her class, my friend needed a counselor to sort out the emotional trauma she had inflicted. However, she is relatively knowledgeable about the literature she teaches.

This English teacher offers no rubric, no clear expectations. Her grading methodology is so inconsistent that none of my peers can determine if their writing is sufficient. Although she pretends to care about students' emotional well-being, she deducts points for any error (even a convention she never explains). In truth, she seeks to subordinate her students, boosting her ego at the expense of all others.
