John Windom, 64, a retired Navy officer, Washington

Rating: 1 out of 5.

Another Lenka Stankova hurting the war fighters. John Windom, 64, a retired Navy officer, was charged with making false statements, concealment of material facts and falsification of a record or document tied to a failure to report more than $15,000 in cash, casino chips and other gifts from contractors. The Justice Department announced the charges on Wednesday, accusing him of “accepting, and sometimes demanding, extravagant gifts from a group of contractors and subcontractors who worked on the project he was overseeing.” As the indictment notes, Windom was aware of the rules regarding reporting gifts and receipts, per training for officials. “An indictment is merely an allegation. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law,” the Justice Department said in its release. In 2018, the 10-year contract was awarded to Cerner (now known as Oracle Health after Oracle acquired it). Windom was appointed as Executive Director of the Office of Electronic Record Modernization in 2017 and helped supervise the VA’s choice of Cerner for the contract. According to the grand jury indictment against him, Windom used his position to take money and gifts from a group of business executives from information technology and consulting companies who were contractors on the project. According to the indictment, Windom allegedly called them “the Power Group.” Windom used his role to “encourage, monitor, and facilitate contract and subcontracting opportunities for members of the Power Group, related and unrelated to the EHRM project.” Windom was allegedly given payment in everything from cash, to $8,200 in Louis Vuitton gift cards and $1,800 in casino chips. He was also given a High Efficiency Particulate Air, or HEPA, filter worth $631. The indictment also accuses Windom of using his position to “coerce” payments and gifts from others. Per the indictment, Windom “repeatedly reminded Power Group members to remain loyal and directed them to maintain confidentiality and their relationship with him.” In one message at the start of 2020, Windom messaged Power Group members, telling them that “loose lips sink ships.” Windom’s initial contract was extended, and in 2022 he was reassigned to serve as deputy director of the Federal electronic Health Modernization Office, a joint VA and Department of Defense project. Nine years after the modernization effort started, the Electronic Health Record program is used by only a handful of VA sites, with the program hit by glitches and usability issues. The VA paused the program in 2023, but is expected to roll out at several sites this year. Windom faces a maximum sentence of over 20 years in prison if convicted on all counts. HealthGrades, WebMd, RateMd

Rating: 1 out of 5.

If you trust these health care sites with your health care decisions I got swamps in Arizona to sell you. I agree no one in any profession lawyer, doctors, dentist, school teacher aka me who does 20 years has a clean record. Everyone has issues yet these sites show them to be perfect little angels then slap a label on there sites to make you feel good to make you feel comfortable saying NO DOCTOR can pay to have things removed. COMMON SENSE SAYS THAT IS NOT TRUE. My own doctor who I chose from Heath Grades years ago had 4 negatives but at least it was true reflection of peoples encounters. WebMd said he was clean as a whistle and rate md also said he was clean as a whistle. Using these disingenuous sites for your most important health care decisions puts your life as well as your families in danger. Trust your Gut its usually right!!

lisa primiani, n/a

Rating: 1 out of 5.

This review is in reference to a United Healthcare virtual visit on July 3, 2022. I'm a 49 year old male who has suffered through anxiety and sleep related issues. To give a little more background I'd previously spoken with 2 other doctors on June 30 and July 2, also through UHC virtual care. But unlike this experience, those two were 5 stars. I originally called because at the time I was going through severe withdrawal symptoms after having to abruptly stop a sleep/anxiety medicine. I had a scheduled appointment with a new primary care physician on July 8 but I had no idea what to expect from the new doctor, plus I needed some immediate relief from the withdrawal symptoms which were making it almost impossible for me to sleep. The first doctor, William Errico, DO was extremely helpful and prescribed a 30 day supply of .1 mg Clonidine to help me. He was friendly and I immediately felt comfortable with him. On July 2, I spoke with Karen Beers, NP. At this point I hadn't noticed much effect from the Clonidine and was looking to gather a little more input on things. She was very patient and helpful and gave me some good suggestions on natural remedies to help with my issue. The 5-HTP she recommended has worked very well for me. By late evening July 2/early July 3 I noticed the Clonidine was starting to have a positive effect. I was still apprehensive about what to expect from the new doctor and I felt that I could possibly gain some more insight from talking to a third doctor and possibly get a refill on the Clonidine since it was beginning to work for me. Plus I had no idea whether a new pcp would even prescribe it. My mistake was getting Lisa Primiani. From the beginning she projected a cold, unfeeling demeanor and I felt uncomfortable with her. The only good thing about the visit was there was no cost because it was fully covered under my insurance. But in this case I got what I paid for. She tended to use the word "unfortunate" a lot but the truly unfortunate thing was this visit. Well, where do I begin? I clearly stated my issue and my concerns and her first response was that I'd already had 3 previous visits with other doctors (it was only 2 - the first visit with Dr. Errico was accidentally disconnected before it had begun). In essence, this made me feel very uncomfortable. Like I'd already called several times already and why was I wasting her time? This isn't what she stated word for word, but it was clearly the impression that I got. To quote a phrase from my 13 year old daughter, it was a "cringe worthy" moment. It got worse from there. At this point I knew I was wasting my time, but I decided to approach the subject of giving me a Clonidine refill. I stated the reasons for this as I did earlier in this review. Her response was basically if I'd taken the whole bottle already then I had a serious problem. These weren't the exact words but they're nearly identical. My initial reaction was complete shock. I honestly don't have words for it. At the time, this comment kind of reminded me of an old lady with a serious case of dementia who will pretty much blurt out the worst possible thing. I was like, no way, she didn't really say that! Also, if I'd actually taken the whole 30 day supply of Clonidine in 3 days then chances are that I probably wouldn't have been having this conversation in the first place. Another truly cringe worthy moment. Unlike the previous 2 doctors, she offered me nothing. Well, actually she did. She offered me an excuse. She stated that her specialty was not "chronic" issues but rather short-term issues or something to that effect. Well, I'll make it a point the next time that I call a telehealth doctor to tell my body not to have a "chronic" issue but a short-term one instead. One word of advice for this doctor, actually 2 words, smile more. A little friendliness goes a long way. I'd love to see the world of telehealth become a kinder place as exemplified by my visits with the first 2 doctors. Every patient out there deserves nothing less.

Rating: 2 out of 5.

We went through the drive thru and we asked for a moment to look at the menu, the woman was super impatient and pretty much yelled at us repeating "Will that complete your order???" And "What to drink???!!!" With such an attitude when we were being polite. We didnt give back that same energy, but that wasnt called for. They weren't busy, there wasnt even anyone else in line so there wasnt an urgency.

Violino Restaurante, Winchester, VA

Rating: 1 out of 5.

I’m not one that uses social media to bad mouth businesses or people. However I do not recommend this restaurant, WOULD YOU, after reading this letter want to dine there? You get better communication and service at a fast food establishment. Mrs. Stocco did not have the consideration to respond to this letter. Some restaurants substitute pork for veal but Ossoboco is a veal dish. With my experience and background in the restaurant business I tend to believe that the Ossoboco that was served to us was pork. December 11, 2018 Marcella Stocco Violino Ristorante Itilano 181 N Loudoun St Winchester, VA 22601 Dear Marcella: After searching for Ossobuco online, I was specifically interested in that dish, Violino Ristorante came up. We called and spoke to you about the menu. The prices on your website menu was less than was listed on the menu handed to us. We informed you about it (we notice now that you do not have prices on your online menu.) . We made reservations at a local hotel, so our main purpose in Winchester, Virginia was just to dine at Violino Restaurant to enjoy your Ossobuco. We were looking forward to a wonderful dining experience. We arrived at the restaurant a little before your opening at 5PM, we were your first guests. After reading the qualities you listed on your website like “what truly makes violin the experience that it is, is the sense of family that is deeply felt throughout the restaurant by patrons as well as the staff.” “From the moment that you walk through the door you are welcomed into the Stocco family, ….they wrap you in unsurpassed hospitality.” We never experienced the above, we were very upset when we left Violino. Having traveled extensively over the world and being one who takes pleasure in eating truly wonderful international dishes and knows true hospitality and being welcomed to one’s establishment. We were seated with very little conversation. Our Waiter came after a short time, and without any small talk or conversation proceeds listing the specials. When I asked him a question, he said, “don’t interrupt me” and just went on talking. His tone was very disruptive he was rude, impertinent and arrogant. We never saw him again after taking our order, the young lady assistant wait staff was your only shining star we experienced for whole evening, and we graciously tipped her for her kindness. We were upset after we left your establishment. You called me on our cell phone while I was driving and asked “WHY I DIDN’T TIP THE WAITER.” I was driving and did not speak about this issue. (In most states it’s illegal to talk on the phone while driving.) Our meal was ruined, by the rude, impertinence and arrogance of the Waiter, (My family and I owned a restaurant, that seated 250 people, that Waiter would never work for us.) He ruined our whole dining experience and to rate your Ossobuco, I question whether it was veal. I’m not one that uses social media to bad mouth businesses or people.

Dr. Laura McNaughton, 4301 Sergeant Rd, Sioux City, IA

Rating: 5 out of 5.

If I could give a rating higher than 5 I defiantly would. Dr. McNaughton saved me from a hole that I was being swallowed up by. Dr. McNaughton performed a breast reduction and tummy tuck on me. After my second child my chest grew much larger than I could handle affecting my breathing. I had done the dieting and lost a significant amount of weight but sadly chest or my muffin top was going no matter how much working out I did. I was always bigger chested but when it started to be a problem while chasing the kids around I knew it was time to do something. So I guess you could say Dr. McNaughton was my saving grace! I truly mean that statement because from the moment I woke up I could take a deep breath without having to stop in the middle of a conversation. This may seem very simple and CRAZY to some people but for the ones that do understand what I am talking about words can not explain how grateful I am for her. Another major perk is I have minimal most of my scars are healing and "fading" or "blending" (sorry not sure what is a better word there) into my normal skin tone color. This is even more exciting because I have an extremely fair complexion. Lastly, Dr. McNaughton is ALWAYS (day or night) available for questions or concerns even months after your surgery. As I stated in the being she pulled me out of a deep hole I truly mean that! She has done so much for my family and I simply by listening and having the best bed side manner of anyone I could ever ask for. When you tell her how you feel and what you are thinking she truly listens! I cannot say enough wonderful things about Dr. McNaughton because I feel and know that I do not have enough space here for that. So I guess what I am trying to say if you are needing anything done that involves plastic surgery Dr. McNaughton is the Best and Only choice. I would ever let a family member choice or myself choice anyone other than her.
