In case you see this, Mr. Englerth, this remark is not a hate comment; I really want you to reach your potential as a guidance counselor and use the amazing heart inside you. Your wall has "Be yourself" with a butterfly. Rather than supporting your version of what a student should be, support a student as they are. Let them soar like a butterfly to the college, career, and life of their dreams. You have what it takes. Use it!

I am a parent and was surprised by Mr. Englerth. He is clearly not qualified, and I am suspicious of his qualifications to even be employed by the high school. He does not seem to care and even if he did, I don't think he has the aptitude to help.

I'm not sure if I believe you, but if that's true, his behavior is beyond strange. What kind of friggin' GUIDANCE COUNSELOR would push a kid to believe they're mentally ill? Honestly, the opposite problem, where a kid tells their gc about their anxiety disorder and is dismissed, is what I often hear. This is such a strange allegation. Either he's messed up big time, or you're twice as messed up and made up this story in attempt to tarnish his reputation. There's no middle ground.

I had Mr. Englerth's wife for my English class. The bluntness fits her writing style. Plus, she would refer to him by first name.
