Decent but needs more info on admissions to T20 colleges. I mean, the guy's been at this position for over 20 years; he really should be a little more knowledgeable at this point.

The people who really were hateful finally got called out though. There were terrible trolls on both sides: bashing Englerth vs bashing people who had reasonable concerns.

Accurate. Mr. Englerth is a sensitive, sensible guy. That's not up for debate in my book. It's fine if someone wants to vocalize a reasonable area for improvement though--no one's perfect, and Mr. Englerth is no exception. But definitely don't act like he's a bigoted judgmental guy. He's the opposite! If only you knew him, it'd honestly break your heart you talked smack about him.

Yeah, Mr. Englerth is a basketball coach, so I think he's more about "touching the court" than "touching grass," but it's the same difference lol. I think he would approve this message. :)

The concept of "touching grass" also wanes by the day. If any of these trolls met the people they were bullying face-to-face, I think about 96% would not even have the gonads to say the same stuff. Not to mention, they probably wouldn't hate the person as much if they actually got to know them. And for the chronically online people who get offended by stuff that's considered normal by the rest of society, they probably wouldn't view kind people as evil if they could get off their phone once every eight hours and hang with someone in-person.

100% true. He's just a normal guidance counselor and a kind man. There is so much dark humor in the fact that a freaking guidance counselor became such a polarizing figure that these people were at each other's throats--constantly spreading lies and threats. I don't even want to reiterate their sentiments because while hilariously melodramatic, it is also horrifying that someone could send so much hate to people online they don't even know.
