Carson Tahoe Pain Management, Dr. Sullivan, Carson City, NV

Rating: 1 out of 5.

Dr. Sullivan screwed up the dates on my prescription. I called his office and his script writer acknowledged his error and promised to fix the problem! She failed miserably! She did NOT follow thru on her promise and refused to return my call and I went without my script. This is a clear example of this doctors office support personal not caring about the patient or their needs no mater what the problem! Dr. Sullivan and his personal are unprofessional and don't care about the patient! I know of several others that have experienced this Doctors employees! We all say the same. Do yourself a favor and stay clear of this desister of a medical profession! Find someone else that truly cares about the patient! His staff could care less about you!!

Rainer Vogel, 10561 Jeffreys Street, Henderson, NV

Rating: 5 out of 5.

Dr. Rainer Vogel has been my Pain Management specialist for over ten years. Federal Law mandates that I see him every month because of the medicine that he prescribes for me. Dr. Vogel is extremely professional but also personable. Though he usually has a full office, he treats me as though I am his only patient, offering new solutions to my pain. I am impressed that he often mentions a class or conference he has recently attended or an article that he just read that makes him up to date on the most recent procedures and medicine. He checks me often (urine) to be sure that I am not abusing the medicine that he gives me. He has me bring in my prescriptions--that he has each pill counted-- every visit. I can think of absolutely no negative comment to offer for Dr. Vogel, and I hope I keep him for many years.

This doctor botched my post-op recovery by not listening to me. His arrogance and incompetence has caused me additional injury. He is "burned out" and needs to retire before he can harm anyone else.

Dr. Michael Sullivan, Gaylord, MI

Rating: 1 out of 5.

Very sad experience. Dr. Sullivan performed a root canal on my number 13 molar. The root canals of this tooth are very narrow and extended. I warned the Dr. that I had a traumatic experience with elongated tooth roots which for teeth being extracted both as an adolescent and as a young serviceman in the Navy. Both of those times the dentists had a rough time with the teeth. The procedures lasted over 4 hours for the tooth when I was a child, and two visits over 3 hours each when I was in the Navy. Dr. Sullivan assured me that he was capable, and that his skill was superior. I believed him. After his first attempt at root canals on this tooth, Dr. Sullivan sent me home telling me that there wasn’t enough time that day to finish the procedure. Mind you I’m under the influence of sedation at this time. I told Dr. Sullivan that I would rather have the tooth pulled than go through another 3 hours in the chair. Amazingly I believed him again when he told me the reason he couldn’t finish was because of scheduling. He also said that he wanted to prove to his dental assistants he could finish the job! Being as high as I was on the anesthesia I made the poor judgement call to return. Two days went by with excruciating pain in my upper jaw. I was having to take Tylenol and Advil to relieve the discomfort. I went back to Sullivan’s office, asked AGAIN if it would be better to just extract the tooth, and he said it was his opinion he could save it, and this time he could finish the job and apply the cap. So I strapped on his gas mask and knocked myself stupid only to have the “Doctor” root around, stretch my jaw and break off half of what was left of the tooth. When I came to I distinctly remembered the snap, the dental assistant saying “Oh God!”, and the good Dr. scurrying away into another operatory. What was I told this time? Of course that I’d have to come back since it was the tooth’s fault it was so damaged that it cracked, and now he had to make a new cap with his machine. Stoned on the good Dr.’s laughing gas I told him “that’s okay, mistakes happen”. What an idiot I was. The laughing gas wore off and the Tylenol Advil routine lasted a week. I went back to Beacon Dental Center, this time for the last time, to finally get the remnants of my tooth capped. This time he squirted the glue in to fill the root canals, fixed the cap on the tooth, and away I went. Fast forward 5 years and I’m in the chair of a very competent dentist. The dentist asks if I’m in any pain and I mention the constant pain I’ve had on my left sinus area. I’ve felt this pain for three years. I’m shown the current X-ray of the area and the Dentist tells me that it’s not normal. The capped tooth is great work (machine made, remember) but there is stuff in the canals of Number 13 tooth that extend into the sinus. After visits to an Ear Nose Throat MD, Oral Surgeon and Endodontist specialists, I’m scheduled to have an operation to remove the so-called saved tooth, and resultant fistula created by the extensive overfilling of the Number 13 root canals with guttapurcha, the latex based root canal filling material. Predictably I could sue and win to recover the costs of these procedures, but the good Doctor has closed his practice, and is now enrolled in a school in Detroit. The lawyer I consulted doesn’t see that my case is strong enough to show the pain I’ve been living through since I trusted Dr. Sullivan. Of course there are risks to root canals. I accepted the possibility of a dry socket, and possible infection, but was re-assured by Sullivan that he’s done thousands of these procedures with no bad outcomes. General dentists can perform root canal procedures along with other dental procedures, but often they refer patients needing endodontic treatment to a specialized practice, who works in collaboration with your dentist. An endodontist is a dentist who specializes in saving teeth. Dr. Sullivan should have not touched that tooth after I warned him of the history of my other root issues, and certainly after he saw the roots narrowness and length.

Dr. Timothy Tollestrup, Henderson, NV

Rating: 1 out of 5.

I flew from Philadelphia to Vegas to have 3 times for consultation and 2 surgeries in Dr. Tollestrup's Henderson surgical suite (which he owns.). He talked a big game, and I was so elated after his exam when he said he could help me, I actually began to cry. The first surgery seemed to go ok, but he said I required a second surgery down my leg for the pain to go away. After the second surgery my calf swelled to bigger than my thigh. I contacted the office and after a week, I never heard back, called again, another week goes by and I decide to message Dr. Tollestrup directly. He tells me that I'm lying about my leg, and that I never called because his staff would've told him and that if I wasn't any better, I must be lying, and HE doesn't have these problems. After this, I began to recall that the Facebook groups that he uses for his marketing promptly removes any negative comments or struggles that people were having. He only lets the positive stuff come through. This is so deceiving, as people get excited to see all these great results. There is now a support group for the people he deceived and has hurt through his actions. The side dr Tollestrup 'fixed' is worse than ever. I fall on that side all the time, and I have little strength in it. His fragile ego has no room for things not to go as he expects. Such a shame that a doctor like Dr. Tollestrup ruins hope for people like me. To be told by a doctor that I am LYING because his surgery went horribly wrong was devastating after everything I have been through. I waited awhile to post this because I didn't want to act out of malice, but what Dr. Tollestrup did to me was consequential for my life, and EXTREMELY unprofessional. After I asked Dr. Tollestrup to STOP contacting me, he continued to harass me via text message. I still have all the text messages saved from 702-506-5462 and they are SHOCKING.

Calvin savu, 504, Jonesbor, AR, 72404

Rating: 1 out of 5.

This pain management doctor is very arogant self serving and gives inappropraite orders . Dr. Calvin Savu. This man wasnt good at being a anesthiologists and now practices in pain management . This doctor tells his patients they will be in a wheelchair in a year if you dont do as he says and tries after youve been told that you need surgery by specialists to talk you out of the surgery by pressuring you at each appt you come to see him. He tells you to.lift weight after other specialists tell you not to and he doesnt listen to you or your opinions. He is focused on himself and is very pushy to his patients . His advice or orders are unsafe when he decides to dictate ..he doesnt read your history or send for old records to see what youve had done in the past . you fill out paperwork but he doesnt read anyones history . He just will not hear you when you speak or he blows off what you say to him like you never spoke at all. Its uncomfortable to go to his office knowing you have no opinion as far as hes concerned .he hits your sciatic nerve and states " i needed to do that to find placement " its a lie if he hits your nerve. Hes in the wrong place period . i do not recommend him or his staff . the office has no clue what their doing and run under his control . He is ego driven in every way possible. I give him a 1 for ratings due to his bad advice and his uncaring attitude towards all that go to see him . i would get a second opinion with any advice he gives. He likes to bragg and hear himself speak . he has no concern for your needs and it shows in his attitude . there are other pain specialists in jonesboro please try them first for your safety and health monitoring of your condition . ive been in the medical field for 28 years and hes one of the worst and practioners ive ever seen ... Good luck ..

Alexander Nash, 3822 Broadway Ave., Fort Myers, FL, 33901

Rating: 5 out of 5.

Dr. Nash is one of the few doctors that I have been to that really cares for his patients. He gives you his entire attention and all the time you need; however, you do not spend hardly any time waiting to be seen. I would recommend Dr. Nash to anyone needing pain management.

Thanh T. Le, St. Petersburg, FL

Rating: 2 out of 5.

This doctor speciality is pain management. My primary care doctor no longer writes scripts for pain medicine, due to gov. Regulations. I was referred to Dr. Thanh at the Pain Relief Center, here in St. Petersburg Florida. Dr. Le, suggested a treatment for my chronic back pain. I postpone treatment until the first of the year, due to my work. Dr. Le assured me there would be "no problem" re filling my pain medication. The first time I needed a refill, within ten days after the pharmacy notified his office, the medication had not been refilled. The pharmacy called twice. I called the office four times in ten days, trying to find out why the script had not been filled. All I got were recorded messages and i requested to have my call return. The calls were never returned. I have had 8 days without pain medication. I have had to use over the counter meds. I will be contacting Medicare and my insurance company. Looking for a new doctor.

Not interested in your pain control. Prescribed a medication that would've killed me if I wasn't smart enough to stop. Under experienced, wrote an article stating his crusade is to "kill the use of *** pain meds use". Not a pain management Dr, a Dr on an ego trip no matter what the patient needs and have taken responsibly. RUN FROM THIS MAN AND SAVE YOUR MONEY
