My manager is ok, but one peer in this office really makes me feel pressure. I may think to change a location.

John Windom, 64, a retired Navy officer, Washington
Another Lenka Stankova hurting the war fighters. John Windom, 64, a retired Navy officer, was charged with making false statements, concealment of material facts and falsification of a record or document tied to a failure to report more than $15,000 in cash, casino chips and other gifts from contractors. The Justice Department announced the charges on Wednesday, accusing him of “accepting, and sometimes demanding, extravagant gifts from a group of contractors and subcontractors who worked on the project he was overseeing.” As the indictment notes, Windom was aware of the rules regarding reporting gifts and receipts, per training for officials. “An indictment is merely an allegation. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law,” the Justice Department said in its release. In 2018, the 10-year contract was awarded to Cerner (now known as Oracle Health after Oracle acquired it). Windom was appointed as Executive Director of the Office of Electronic Record Modernization in 2017 and helped supervise the VA’s choice of Cerner for the contract. According to the grand jury indictment against him, Windom used his position to take money and gifts from a group of business executives from information technology and consulting companies who were contractors on the project. According to the indictment, Windom allegedly called them “the Power Group.” Windom used his role to “encourage, monitor, and facilitate contract and subcontracting opportunities for members of the Power Group, related and unrelated to the EHRM project.” Windom was allegedly given payment in everything from cash, to $8,200 in Louis Vuitton gift cards and $1,800 in casino chips. He was also given a High Efficiency Particulate Air, or HEPA, filter worth $631. The indictment also accuses Windom of using his position to “coerce” payments and gifts from others. Per the indictment, Windom “repeatedly reminded Power Group members to remain loyal and directed them to maintain confidentiality and their relationship with him.” In one message at the start of 2020, Windom messaged Power Group members, telling them that “loose lips sink ships.” Windom’s initial contract was extended, and in 2022 he was reassigned to serve as deputy director of the Federal electronic Health Modernization Office, a joint VA and Department of Defense project. Nine years after the modernization effort started, the Electronic Health Record program is used by only a handful of VA sites, with the program hit by glitches and usability issues. The VA paused the program in 2023, but is expected to roll out at several sites this year. Windom faces a maximum sentence of over 20 years in prison if convicted on all counts. Does not show any compassion or empathy towards patients. Only had one visit and never even asked history. Said he only prescribed meds and isn’t there for therapy. Said I wasn’t depressed when I know I am!

Violino Restaurante, Winchester, VA
I’m not one that uses social media to bad mouth businesses or people. However I do not recommend this restaurant, WOULD YOU, after reading this letter want to dine there? You get better communication and service at a fast food establishment. Mrs. Stocco did not have the consideration to respond to this letter. Some restaurants substitute pork for veal but Ossoboco is a veal dish. With my experience and background in the restaurant business I tend to believe that the Ossoboco that was served to us was pork. December 11, 2018 Marcella Stocco Violino Ristorante Itilano 181 N Loudoun St Winchester, VA 22601 Dear Marcella: After searching for Ossobuco online, I was specifically interested in that dish, Violino Ristorante came up. We called and spoke to you about the menu. The prices on your website menu was less than was listed on the menu handed to us. We informed you about it (we notice now that you do not have prices on your online menu.) . We made reservations at a local hotel, so our main purpose in Winchester, Virginia was just to dine at Violino Restaurant to enjoy your Ossobuco. We were looking forward to a wonderful dining experience. We arrived at the restaurant a little before your opening at 5PM, we were your first guests. After reading the qualities you listed on your website like “what truly makes violin the experience that it is, is the sense of family that is deeply felt throughout the restaurant by patrons as well as the staff.” “From the moment that you walk through the door you are welcomed into the Stocco family, ….they wrap you in unsurpassed hospitality.” We never experienced the above, we were very upset when we left Violino. Having traveled extensively over the world and being one who takes pleasure in eating truly wonderful international dishes and knows true hospitality and being welcomed to one’s establishment. We were seated with very little conversation. Our Waiter came after a short time, and without any small talk or conversation proceeds listing the specials. When I asked him a question, he said, “don’t interrupt me” and just went on talking. His tone was very disruptive he was rude, impertinent and arrogant. We never saw him again after taking our order, the young lady assistant wait staff was your only shining star we experienced for whole evening, and we graciously tipped her for her kindness. We were upset after we left your establishment. You called me on our cell phone while I was driving and asked “WHY I DIDN’T TIP THE WAITER.” I was driving and did not speak about this issue. (In most states it’s illegal to talk on the phone while driving.) Our meal was ruined, by the rude, impertinence and arrogance of the Waiter, (My family and I owned a restaurant, that seated 250 people, that Waiter would never work for us.) He ruined our whole dining experience and to rate your Ossobuco, I question whether it was veal. I’m not one that uses social media to bad mouth businesses or people.

The manager at 1620 south congress ave in boynton beach knows nothing about cars but got his manager title by selling people on stuff his boss told him to sell such as air filters and other stuff. I was there for four years and didnt get once raise but they dont have an issue hiring some kid off the street who knows nothing about cars and pay him more then the person actually doing the work all because he can sell overpriced services to little old ladies!
