Don Simmers, Greytown Medical, Greytown, Wairarapa

Rating: 1 out of 5.

Mis diagnosed a condition and when questioned about it, instead of apologising, Dr Simmers became arrogant, rude and hostel and blamed the patient for his mistake. He has caused a great deal of distress for the patient.

I've been with my doctor since 2011. We've formed a great relationship over time & wouldn't transfer to any other doctor. She knows all my medical conditions which I love because I don't have to explain much.

Dr Gibbons, Dargaville medical centre, Northland

Rating: 1 out of 5.

An old doctor that needs to retire as he is as useless as a two bob watch! In fact if you need medical services don’t live in dargaville or Northland substandard doctors and nurses!

Andrew Hilliard

Rating: 1 out of 5.

I have to agree, I had him for two of my occupational review reports, and it wasn't until a long time after he wrote mine that I saw complete lies. He omitted important medical facts I had expressed to him, thinking they were important, yet failed to record this information, which is not best practice. He did not document obvious and significant findings - such as very poor balance on the physical exam, regular falls at home, difficulty breathing and sternum pushing out the front of my chest wall- clear findings any doctor or nurse would pick up on a basic visual observation. His lies that are all through my reports - have seen me kick off my weekly payments, I had to pay for my tests to prove something significantly wrong, but other practitioners read these reports. Every other doctor who reads these significant health histories and findings believes them. My notes are complete shambles; nothing makes sense, and no one clearly understands my case. This kind of thing, committing crucial medical information, is dangerous. For a doctor to take the Hippocratic oath - yet worry more about money than patients' well-being and safety is BS I call this guy out and the rest of them. Shame on you - all of you who pl have forgotten why you wanted to become a Dr in the first place. Sad money is more important than fellow human beings or doing what's right

Matt White, Carlyle Medical

Rating: 2 out of 5.

Visited 5x over 5 months with pain in neck. Kept telling me it was a pulled muscle. My physio was worried & said I needed an MRI. Dr wouldn’t listen. A year later after going private neurologist diagnosed me with tumour on spinal cord. Also wouldn’t refer me with hiatal hernia pressing on my heart. Said I would never get in. I went privately and am to have surgery urgently as surgeon said the hernia was so bad it could stop the blood flow in the heart. GP refused to apologise & I have changed doctors.

A truly great GP; very thorough to provide good diagnosis and treatment. Does not proscribe unnecessary medication.
